GIRARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A chimney from a wood burning stove is being listed as the cause of a fire which caused about $5,000 worth of damage to a Girard Township home Wednesday morning.
The Coldwater Fire Department reports crews were dispatced at about 4:30 a.m. to the Nick Babcock residence at 280 Riverview Drive in northern Branch County.
They found light smoke in the two story wood structure. Damage was limited to the east side exterior of the home.
The fire was called under control at 5:13 a.m.. Crews remained on the scene until 5:39 a.m..
No injuries were reported.
