CONCORD, MI (WTVB) – Bronson finished second on Saturday and had three champions at the Big 8 Conference wrestling meet hosted by Concord.
Springport won the meet with 172 points followed the Vikings with 149 points while Reading was third with 141 points.
Union City was fourth in the final standings while Quincy was sixth.
It was also announced during the meet Saturday that Union City Coach Jason Counterman was the Big 8 Conference Wrestling Coach of the Year.
Winning conference championships for the Vikings were Ben Modert at 119 pounds, J.C. DePaz at 171 and Justin Blankenship at 189.
Bronson got second place finishes from Craig Tappenden at 160, Blayn Gibson at 215 and Brady Long at heavyweight.
Union City had two champions as Bradley Russell captured the 125 pound title and Garrett Iobe took the championship at 140 pounds. Colton Russell was second at 119 pounds.
Quincy’s Jacob Reif won the 103 pound title while Gerl Pish was second at 152 pounds.
