COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – Coldwater’s girls basketball team has suddenly become the Cardiac Cards.
After coming back from 14 points down in the final six minutes to defeat Three Rivers in overtime on Tuesday night, Brooke Moore scored the winning basket with eight seconds left as the Cardinals defeated Marshall 45-43 on Friday night in a tension filled Interstate 8 girls basketball game at the Coach Floyd Eby Gymnasium.
Moore’s winning bucket capped a big fourth quarter for her as she scored 12 of her game-high 17 points in the final period while Carlee Crabtree added 15 points despite getting into second half foul trouble.
Moore also had six rebounds while Crabtree had five boards and six assists.
Mia Rzepka had four rebounds and four assists.
Coldwater has won four straight games as they have improved to 8-7 overall and 6-3 in the Interstate 8.
Marshall won the J.V. game over Coldwater 40-33. Jenni Hernandez had nine points to lead Coldwater.

SPRINGPORT, MI. – (WTVB) – Big 8 Conference leader Springport jumped on Quincy early and never let up as they defeated the Orioles 44-19 on Friday night.
The Spartans led 10-3 after the first quarter and then built their lead to 24-9 at halftime. The Spartans continued to pull away thanks to a 14-4 third quarter. Alana Nelson scored a game-high 18 points for Springport.
Quincy is now 9-5 overall and 5-4 in the Big 8 Conference.
