MARIETTA, GA. – (WTVB) – Coldwater High School graduate Zoe Nowicki made history for Adrian College on Saturday as became the college’s first national wrestling champion in program history.
She pinned Big Bend’s Aliyah Yates in 2:07 of the first period to claim the 136-pound title at the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association’s national championship Saturday.
Nowicki dominated her competition. Her closest victory was a 9-5 decision in the semifinals.
The 20-year-old sophomore at Adrian College is majoring in exercise science and is the daughter of Jason and Amun Nowicki.
She and her brother both qualified for the 2018 M.H.S.A.A. Individual Wrestling Finals at 112 pounds.
