BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council approved a change in a permit Monday night for the running of a new fiber line.
The Council approved a METRO Act Permit last November from Everstream who were acting on behalf of AT&T.
Original plans called for the line to run from Matteson and Fillmore Streets to the East Railroad Street water tower.
The line would have been attached to existing Consumer’s Energy power poles in order to connect with AT&T equipment on the tower.
But the route had to be modified after Consumer’s denied access to some of the poles.
The route will now go from Matteson and Fremont Streets to Fillmore. It will then go underground to Buchanan and up to the water tower.
City Manager Brandon Mersman has been assured that any damage to city infrastructure will be restored.
In other business, the City Council agreed to have Lillis and Jansen serve as the City Attorneys for the next two years. They have served in that capacity since 2011.
