GRAND RAPIDS, MI.(WTVB) – A former Quincy man was ordered in U.S. District Court Monday to serve 30 years in prison after entering a guilty plea to producing child pornography.
51-year-old Dale Otis Junior was initially charged in Branch County before he was indicted by a federal grand jury in October 2018.
In exchange for his guilty plea, federal prosecutors dismissed a charge of possession of child pornography.
Michigan State Police say the victim was a three year old girl.
Otis was originally charged in Branch County with child sexually abusive activity, manufacturing child sexually abusive material, possession of child sexually abusive material, distributing child sexually abusive material and use of a computer to commit a crime.
Court documents indicate Otis was arrested after State Police got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children through Google.
