COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Emergency Management Coordinator Tim Miner told County Commissioners during their work session Thursday that currently 18 percent of the patients that Lifecare Ambulance picks up in an emergency situation are not transported to a local hospital. He indicated they will be looking into that situation further.
Miner said, “we haven’t really evaluated that number closely over time..now we’re looking at the reasons.”
On another matter, Miner said they also watching the number of citizen assistance calls which he said are used as a guide to show community leaders if there are enough appropriate resources available for an aging population.
Miner said this is also telling them a person constantly needing assistance may not have a met need. As he put it, they’re missing a piece of their health care puzzle.
