COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – With 58th District State Representative Eric Leutheuser leaving office because of term limits at the end of 2020, Hillsdale Mayor Adam Stockford is one of the candidates running in the August G.O.P. Primary.
Stockford spoke to the Branch County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday and said he wants to see more revenue coming back to local governments.
He feels the system of awarding grants has become a “total crony fest”. Stockford believes local townships and cities along with county governments know best how to spend their money.
Stockford also feels workers compensation insurance in Michigan has to be looked at since the 58th House district borders Indiana and Ohio where according to Stockford those states have less regulations and workers compensation rates are lower.
Stockford told Commissioners he was pro life and pro second amendment.
He was elected to the Hillsdale City Council in 2014 and was elected as Hillsdale Mayor in 2017.
