COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The final girls/boys high school varsity basketball doubleheaders of the season are on tap for Friday night.
It will be Senior Night in Coldwater as the Cardinals play host to Jackson Lumen Christi. The girls game starts at 6:00 p.m. followed by Senior Night ceremonies and the boys game. A victory by the Coldwater boys would give them the outright Interstate 8 championship.

In the Big 8 Conference games involving Branch County teams, Quincy will be at Reading with the boys game determining first place in the conference. Reading has a one game lead over the Orioles. Since the Rangers won in Quincy January 31, the Orioles have won six straight games.
Also in Big 8 Conference varsity doubleheaders, Union City will be hosting Springport while Bronson will host Concord.
In boys basketball only, Tekonsha will host Pittsford.
Coldwater and Lumen Christi split the boys underclassmen games that were played on Thursday. Coldwater won the J.V. game 56-42. Jett Galloway scored a game-high 18 points while Lu LeBron and Aaron May both had 11 points.
Lumen Christi won the freshman game 43-36. Hamid Abdullah led Coldwater with 12 points.
Coldwater defeated Lumen Christi 31-24 in the girls J.V. game. Brooklyn Kerry led Coldwater with 11 points while Lilly Gimenez had six points.
