COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Johnny Lopez lost to Branch County Sheriff John Pollack in the 2012 General Election when he ran as a Democrat.
Lopez is hoping a change of party will change his luck in August when he runs against Pollack again, this time in the Republican Primary.
He told the Branch County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday he has about two decades of law enforcement experience.
Lopez says his platform is to bring back 24-hour-a-day road patrols in Branch County.
The 54-year-old Lopez graduated from Kellogg Community College with a degree in criminal justice and graduated from their police academy.
