KALAMAZOO, MI. – (WTVB) – The Coldwater girls bowling team added an M.H.S.A.A. Division Two regional title to their Interstate 8 crown on Friday at Continental Lanes in Kalamazoo.
Both the Coldwater girls and boys qualified for next weeks State Finals which will be held at Century Bowl in Waterford.
The Coldwater girls won by 648 pins over Wayland. Niles finished third. The Cardinals saved thier best for last as they compiled a pin total of 1,007 in the final regular game, the only team to get over 1,000 pins in a game.
In a close battle for the boys title, Coldwater finished third but they were just 29 pins behind first place Byron Center which had a total of 3,925 pins. Thornapple Kellogg was second with 3,902 pins followed by Coldwater with 3,896 pins.
Coldwater beat out Niles by 147 pins to earn the final spot in the state finals.
