COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners suspended board rules during their work session on Thursday and voted to bring a resolution to Tuesday’s regular meeting that supports the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
A group that backs second amendment rights asked the Commissioners recently to pass a resolution that declares the county a second amendment sanctuary county.
The resolution that was brought forward to Tuesday’s meeting is along the lines of one that was adopted in Berrien County.
The Berrien County resolution has no mention of becoming a second amendment sanctuary county.
Instead, it declares support for the Second Amendment and the provision to the Michigan Constitution which protects citizens individual rights to keep and bear arms.
