WATERFORD, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School girls bowling team got to the quarterfinals of the MHSAA Division Two Finals Friday at Century Bowl in Waterford before being eliminated in the opening round of the match play format.
Coming off last weeks regional championship, the Lady Cardinals tied with Tecumseh for second place with 3,002 pins in the qualifying round as they finished behind eventual state champion Mason by 61 pins.
Coldwater was then beaten in the quarterfinals by Carleton Airport 1,233 to 1,062. Carleton Airport built a 69 pin lead after the baker game and outscored Coldwater in the regular game 871 to 769.
A young Coldwater boys team finished 14th in the qualifying block with a total of 3.065 pins. Jackson Northwest from the Interstate 8 Conference won the Boys Division Two state championship by 20 pins over Cadillac.
