BRONSON, MI. – (WTVB) – The Bronson City Council will be asked Monday night to approve a $35,000 bid from Dan Hershberger Construction for the proposed farmer’s market pavilion.
City Manager Brandon Mersman says Dan Hershberger Construction came in well under budget for the structure which will include cedar wood posts, a vaulted ceiling with metal along with cedar posts and a cupola with windows in the center of the roof.
He adds the building would have security lighting on each end and lighting under the roof along with electrical outlets. According to Mersman, the structure would not only provide a permanent home to the Farmer’s Market but will also to serve as a gathering place for other events in the City.
The City of Bronson was recently awarded a $35,000 grant from Consumer’s Energy for the pavilion which will be located where a blighted home at 7 Foy Court was demolished last year.
