COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A possible stolen vehicle that was involved in a short police chase crashed near the Coldwater Township Hall Wednesday afternoon.
Coldwater Police were dispatched on a report of a man unlawfully driving away an automobile at about 1:40 p.m.
Speeds during the pursuit reportedly got as high as 80 miles an hour.
A witness says it ended when the vehicle struck some mail boxes near Sprague and Cynthia and wound up in a ditch across the street.
The driver was not seriously injured but was taken into custody.
Coldwater Police, the Branch County Sheriff’s Office, the Michigan State Police, Coldwater firefighters and LIfe Care Ambulance were all at the scene.
