ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Two Angola men have been charged following a Sunday night incident in which a Indiana State Police car was nearly struck head on by an erratic driver.
Indiana State Police Sergeant Matt Lazoff says was patrolling on Mill Street in Angola at about 8:50 p.m. when he was almost hit by someone in a Saturn SUV.
While pursuing the vehicle, Lazoff says he say items being thrown from both side windows.
After he stopped the vehicle, and upon further investigation, it was discovered that the items discarded out the window were bags of suspected methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.
The driver, 31-year-old Jeremy L. Combs, and his passenger, 37-year-old Matthew Drew were taken into custody without further incident, and transported to the Steuben County Jail where they were booked on felony related drug charges. Drew was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for domestic battery.
