UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – A home invasion case involving a Union City teenager has been bound over to Branch County Circuit Court.
A District Court preliminary exam that was scheduled on Tuesday for 17-year-old Trent Matthew Williams was waived by the defendant.
He is now scheduled to appear for a Circuit Court pre-trial conference on April 13th.
Union City Police arrested Williams and a juvenile in late February following a break in of an unoccupied home inside of the village.
Williams is facing a charge of second degree home invasion. He is also facing a pair of charges involving the stealing of firearms as well as receiving and concealing them.
The co-defendant was going through the Juvenile Court system.
Union City Police say a pair of weapons along with electronics and jewelry were taken in the break in.
