Everett was born on December 3, 1938 in Hillsdale, MI to Basil and Lucille
(Pendelton) VanWormer. He grew up in Hillsdale County and attended school in
the Jerome area. On November 14, 1964, he married Sherrin (Wadsworth)

throughout his life. He worked as a logger for Superior Pallet and also Midwest
Foundry. In 1973 he went to work for American Fire Apparatus Co. in Battle
Creek, then started his own business, Wolverine Fire Apparatus, in Union City in
1978. He operated Wolverine until he and Sherrin retired in 2004.
In his community, Everett was a member of the Union City Fire Department
for nearly 40 years. He also served on the Union City Village Council and attended
the Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, mushrooming and gardening.

George and Harriett.
