LANSING, MI (WTVB) – While some may just remember Drew Henson battling Tom Brady for the starting job with the University of Michigan Wolverines, his time as a high school baseball player is the stuff of legends.
He finished with state records in hits, doubles, homers, grand slams, RBI and walks while batting .527 from 1995 to 1998. Because of that, the former New York Yankees prospect will be inducted to the state’s baseball Hall of Fame at Cooley Law School Stadium over the summer.
He will be joined by Detroit Mercy coach Bob Miller. Miller, who pitched for the Philadelphia Phillies, led Mercy from 1965 to 2000, winning 896 games.
