Kevin Jon Norton, 52, of Mendon Township, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 21, 2020.
A private family service will be held. Interment will be at Matteson Township Cemetery. A public memorial service will be held at a later date.
Kevin was born on May 14, 1967 in LaGrange, IN to Kenneth and Neva (Carpenter) Norton. He grew up in Bronson, where he graduated from high school in 1986.
He worked as a truck driver for King Farms and Yoder Farms in Mendon. After the harvest, he would glean potatoes from the fields and give them to people in need. Kevin also worked at Douglas Autotec in Bronson and drove bus for Colon Community Schools.
He served as a reserve officer for the Colon Police Department and the St. Joseph County Sheriff Department. He enjoyed all kinds of outdoors activities, including hunting and fishing.
Survivors include Kevin’s mother and step-father, Neva and Michael Burnham of Bronson; siblings, Kenneth Norton of Howe, IN and Kimberly Norton Dury of Elkhart, IN; a step-sister, J.J. Norton of Columbus, OH; nephews, Brett Neveraski of Columbus, OH, Andrew Neveraski and Carter Neveraski of Elkhart, IN; and nieces, Toni Norton and Becky Norton of Union City.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandparents; and a niece, Taylor Neveraski.
