Shirley Jean Morley, 81, of Union City, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Manatee Hospital, Bradenton, Florida, after a short illness with family by her side.
The family is planning a celebration of Shirley’s life with family and friends and a memorial service at Burlington cemetery when conditions allow.
Shirley was born May 22, 1938 in Coldwater to Zonald and Mary Clark. She graduated in 1956 from Tekonsha High School and married Paul Morley on June 23, 1956. They spent 50 years together in marriage until Paul’s death October 19, 2006.
Shirley was a loving mother and grandmother. She was very close to her siblings and had many close and dear friends. When her kids were young, Shirley was a homemaker and babysat neighborhood kids in Tekonsha. There were always kids running in and out of her house and she thought of each of them as her own.
Prior to having kids she worked at the State Home in Coldwater. Shirley later spent time working at Olds grocery store in Tekonsha, at Tekonsha Engineering, at the Tekon Truck Stop and in the Tekonsha school cafeteria. She loved interacting with people and made friends where ever she went.
Shirley loved to be on the go, most nights she was either playing bingo or playing cards with friends. She enjoyed most of all spending time with her friends and family and was always cheerful and fun to be around. Shirley also loved to travel. She and Paul took many motorcycle trips when they were younger and Shirley loved to go on cruises with friends and family and was always looking for opportunities to travel.
Shirley loved her family much and always wanted to see them happy and well. Shirley was a longtime member of the Moose Lodge and was an avid bowler when she was younger.
