COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater Planning Commission approved a site plan during an electronic special meeting Thursday night for a new adult convalescent care facility at 300 Vista Drive.
Grand Vista Assisted Living plans to build a 20 unit 12,000 square foot building on a 3.67 acre site that is presently vacant.
The construction of the new building is expected to cost $2.1 million.
Grand Vista built another 20 bed assisted living community down the street at 99 Vista Drive almost seven years ago. It opened in September 2013.
Contingencies for the Planning Commission’s approval included having only the trees necessary to accommodate the driveway approach removed from the tree line adjacent to Vista Drive. In addition, a formal agreement is reached with the Branch County Drain Commission to discharge into the county drain.
Thursday’s meeting took place after the March 16th Planning Commission meeting was cancelled because of the COVID-19 outbreak.
