COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Sheriff’s Office has announced that Corrections Officer Ty Johnson completed a local corrections officer four week training academy at Kalamazoo Valley Community College March 13.
The academy offers a comprehensive, interactive instruction program in various disciplines for local corrections officers.
It is certified by the Michigan Sheriff’s Coordinating and Training Council.
Topics during training include custody and security, defensive tactics, first aid, suicide awareness, fire safety and interpersonal communications.
