COLDWATER, MI. – (WTVB) – Two more deaths from the COVID-19 have taken place in Hillsdale County according to a news release issued by the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency Tuesday.
A total of five Hillsdale County deaths have taken place because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
No information on the latest two deaths has been released by the CHA.
According to their daily report, three more COVID-19 cases have been reported in Branch County outside of the Lakeland Correctional Facility, which brought the number of Branch County cases up to 16.
Hillsdale County has 56 positive cases with 15 cases reported in St. Joseph County.
Two more positive cases were reported in Calhoun County by the County Health Department, which brought the number of COVID-19 cases in that county up to 43 out of 356 tests conducted. There have been 226 negative tests with 87 tests still pending.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says there were 33 positive cases among prisoners at Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater out of 48 prisoners who have been tested. There have been six negative tests with results from nine prisoners still pending. In addition, there have been 12 positive cases among the Lakeland staff.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported on Tuesday there were 18,970 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state and that the virus has killed 845 Michigan residents.
