NORTH WEBSTER, IN (WTVB) – As if there is not enough things to worry about these days with the COVID-19 pandemic and people being told to stay in their homes, you may lose your electricity on Monday due to high winds that are expected to gust between 50 and 60 miles an hour.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch from late Sunday night through Monday evening for northern Indiana, southwest Michigan and northwest Ohio.
Forecasters are calling for winds out of the west at 25 to 35 miles per hour with frequent gusts up to 50 miles an hour.
A brief period of gusts between 50 to 60 miles per hour are possible Monday morning.
You should be prepared for the possibility of power outages as damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines.
Travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.
Residents along the Lake Michigan shoreline are being told to be prepared for lakeshore erosion and flooding.
