BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department announced on Monday there has been a second COVID-19 death in its jurisdiction.
Officials say the individual was a middle-aged adult with underlying medical conditions who passed away on Sunday.
No further information on the person was made available.
As of late Monday morning, there has been 83 positive cases for COVID-19 with 28 being hospitalized.
Department officials urge residents to continue obeying the Governor’s Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive Order as they anticipate a continued rise in Calhoun County confirmed cases of COVID-19.
With adherence to Governor Whitmer’s Stay Home executive order, it is believed healthcare resources can stay within their limits.
With a poor adherence to this order, Calhoun County is projected to hit its healthcare capacities in the middle of May.
