COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The COVID-19 pandemic has forced a change to another community event.
The annual Memorial Day parade and ceremonies in Coldwater will not take place this year.
City Manager Keith Baker said during Monday’s electronic City Council meeting that a program will be conducted that morning on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB in lieu of those events. Details are still being worked out.
As for other events that are scheduled to take place over the next couple of months in Coldwater, Baker said they are waiting to hear back from organizers for the “River Through Time” event which used to be known as Civil War Days.
He added a decision by the city on Strawberry Fest, which attracts thousands of people to downtown Coldwater every year, will have to be made sometime around the end of the month.
For the first time in over three decades, there will be no classic car show in Coldwater over Mother’s Day weekend as the COVID-19 pandemic forced organizers to cancel the annual Car Show and Swap Meet.
