ORLAND, IND. (WTVB) – Miller Poultry in Steuben County has cancelled production operations at the plant for all shifts on Monday due to not having COVID-19 test results back yet from the laboratory.
Testing was performed on all employees last Friday and Saturday.
The Herald Republican in Angola reported last Friday that there were seven positive tests for COVID-19 involving six employees and a U.S. Department of Agriculture inspector.
Officials at Miller Poultry say the testing is being done strictly as a precautionary measure to protect employees and communities.
Miller Poultry employs about 1,000 people and has been deemed an essential business.
