COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported four new Branch County COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.
That brought Branch County’s total number of coronavirus cases since the outbreak began up to 70.
Meanwhile, six new cases were reported in Hillsdale County while three additional cases were reported in Saint Joseph County.
Hillsdale County has had 137 coronavirus cases since the start of the outbreak while Saint Joseph County has had 43 cases.
New statistics from the Calhoun County Public Health Department shows of the 246 positive cases so far, 161 persons are no longer in isolation while 123 are out of quarantine. Eight of the 62 persons who required hospitlized are still being cared for in a Calhoun County medical facility.
The Michigan Department of Corrections says a 16th prisoner who had originally been housed at Lakeland Correctional Facility has died after testing positive for COVID-19. The M.D.O.C. says 47 prisoners around the state who had tested positive have now died.
