BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – After high temperatures got up to near 80 degrees last Saturday, the National Weather Service says an unseasonably cold air mass will prevail going into the weekend.
Forecasters say Thursday night and more so Friday night could feature below freezing temperatures for parts of the region.
Thursday night’s low is expected to be around freezing with the possibility rain may mix with snow.
Friday is expected to be more like the middle of March instead of the middle of May. Highs are only expected in the mid 40s which is almost 20 degrees below normal for May eighth in Coldwater.
The bottom is expected to fall out Friday night as skies will clear and forecasters say lows will fall into the mid 20s.
It will remain cold for this time of year on Saturday as highs are only expected to be in the upper 40s.
No major warm up is on the horizon as below normal temperatures in the low to mid 50s are expected Sunday through Tuesday.
