QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – With the status of this year’s events in the Village of Quincy up in the air and funding expected to be reduced from the state because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Quincy Village Council decided Tuesday night to temporarily lay off Erin Veysey from her part time position of Special Projects Events Coordinator.
Village Manager Brittany Butler said Veysey can be called back a month ahead of time if the decision is made to hold the events.
Veysey has been assisting with writing grant applications but with just about everything on hold right now, Butler said her weekly hours have been reduced to four.
The Quincy American Legion Memorial Day Parade has been cancelled but Butler says decisions on such events as the Sounds of Summer, Kids Day and Pints in the Park will be made on a month-by-month basis.
