COLDWATER TOWNSHIP, MI. (WTVB) – Coldwater and Quincy firefighters had to put out a fire in a detached garage on Fox Road north of US-12 on Friday afternoon.
Coldwater firefighters were dispatched at 2:35 p.m. to 412 Fox Road.
Fire Marshal Steve Trall says there was significant fire and smoke coming the south and east sides of the garage on the Todd Nowicki property.
Coldwater crews requested an engine and additional personel from Quincy.
Crews were able to get inside and put out the fire as they managed to protect the nearby home.
The fire was called under control at about 3:00 p.m. and it was called extinguished about 15 minutes later. Crews remained on the scene until just before 5:00 p.m..
No one was injured. There’s no word yet on what caused the fire. Damage to the garage was said to be significant. The fire caused about $70,000 worth of damage.
