COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Board of Commissioners Tuesday formally approved keeping county offices closed to the public through May 28 based on the Governor’s Executive order. They also approved as a phased-in reopening plan.
County Administrator Bud Norman says the reopening plan includes spaced seating, the installation of protective counter shields, increased cleaning, increased sanitizer stations, social distancing and required face coverings in public areas.
The timeline calls for 50 percent of the employees returning the first week, 75 percent would come back the second week and all of the employees would be back by the third week.
Norman said the courthouse would open the next week to the public by appointment only and building visitors would have to be escorted.
Each department would have a person who would make sure safety measures are being met.
Branch County offices have been closed to the public since March 17, 2020.
