BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department has reported its first COVID-19 related death in over a week.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the latest person to die was elderly and had other health conditions.
It was the 18th person to die in the C.C.P.H.D. jurisdiction since the outbreak began.
As of Thursday afternoon, there have been 287 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Calhoun County. Of the 66 persons who have required hospitalization, five remain in a Calhoun County medical care facility.
There have been 201 persons who have been released from isolation orders after testing positive.
According to Thursday’s report from the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency, there have been 90 cases of COVID-19 in Branch County since the outbreak began while 159 have been reported in Hillsdale County and 80 cases in St. Joseph County.
