BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Officials at the Branch County Road Commission are hoping for some dry weather to move in after the rainfall of recent days led to high water and some closed roads.
The Road Commission reported the following roads were closed on Tuesday morning….
* Gorbell Road north of Jonesville Road
* Wattles Road between Athens and Ladyman Roads
* Lester Road between Kelley and Phillip Roads
* Kelley Road between Brown and Lester Roads
* Ambs Road north of M-86
* Rose Road between Butcher and Larabee Roads.
* Butcher Road between Rose and Central Roads
* Larabee Road between Central and Rose Roads.
* Albright Road between Batavia and Snow Prairie Roads
Over three-and-a-half inches of rain has been measured by the M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm since last Thursday and over four inches has fallen in the last ten days. There was an unofficial report of well over five inches of rain on Monday in Ovid Township.
