BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Power was knocked out between the east side of Coldwater and the Hillsdale County line Tuesday evening due to the thunderstorms that went through the area.
Nearly 3,500 Consumers Energy customers were without power including over 2,600 customers in the Quincy area.
The area affected was from I-69 east to near the county line and in between East Girard and East Central Roads.
The outages were reported at 6:47 p.m.. Everyone was back on line early Wednesday morning.
National Weather Service observers reported thunderstorm wind damage near Leonidas where numerous trees were knocked down. Several trees were also reported down in Colon.
Penny sized hail and heavy rain was reported three miles northeast of Nevada Mills, Indiana.
Branch County Memorial Airport saw the temperature drop from 81 at 6:35 p.m. to 73 at 7:15 p.m. as the storms moved through.
