ALBION, MI (WTVB) – Anyone who wants to get tested for COVID-19 in Calhoun County can do so this weekend in Albion.
The Calhoun County Public Health Department is teaming up with the Michigan National Guard and the Michigan State Police to provide free testing to all Calhoun County residents.
Officials say this event will provide no-cost COVID-19 tests to any resident, regardless of whether they’re exhibiting symptoms or have been exposed to a positive coronavirus case.
“We anticipate this is the first testing event among many,” said CCPHD Health Officer Eric Pessell. “Our staff has worked to identify where in the community needs better access to testing.”
The City of Albion has lacked local access to testing and was selected by the Governor’s office for this collaborative testing event.
Testing will take place between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at Opportunity High School on East Watson Street. All participants are asked to wear a face covering and maintain social distancing.
