BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Calhoun County Public Health Department reported on Monday the death of the 23rd person in its jurisdiction following a positive test for COVID-19.
It’s the first Calhoun County death related to the virus that has been reported since last Wednesday.
As of Monday afternoon, Calhoun County has had 374 coronavirus cases since the outbreak began including 27 in the last week. Of the 74 persons who required hospitalization, three remained in a Calhoun County hospital bed on Monday.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported on Monday that there have been 170 positive cases in Hillsdale County, 124 cases in St. Joseph County and 121 cases in Branch County.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services said on Monday there have been 57,532 confirmed cases of COVID-19 which has led to 5,516 deaths. As of last Friday, 38,099 have recovered from the virus.
