COLDWATER, MI – (WTVB) – Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions on outdoor events, Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says in his report for Monday’s City Council meeting that the annual summer concert series “Entertainment Under The Stars” has been rescheduled and will now be held on Tuesday evenings in August.
This year’s “Entertainment Under The Stars” series of concerts will be held in Heritage Park beginning at 7:00 p.m..
The decision to move the concerts from the downtown Four Corners Park was made in January before the COVID-19 pandemic began. Baker said at the time the decision to move the concerts was made after they got feedback about the noise from nearby traffic on U.S. 12 and Marshall and the amount of area to put on the concerts.
This will be the second summer the city will be hosting the concert series after the concerts were previously put on by the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce.
To offset the downtown’s loss of “Entertainment Under The Stars”, plans have been worked out for “Hops on Monroe” which will be held on Thursday evenings between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. along South Monroe Street.
“Hops on Monroe” will offer food trucks, beverage service from Broadway Grille, entertainment and outdoor games.
It was originally scheduled to take place in July but Baker says due to the pandemic and the Governor’s orders, the event has been moved to August.
