BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The severe thunderstorms that went through Branch County during the 10:00 hour late Friday night did not cause the massive amount of power outages that took place after the storms of June 9 and 10.
Consumers Energy reported scattered outages in Branch County Saturday morning with a total of 318 customers without power.
There were 418 outages in Calhoun County, 206 customers were out in Hillsdale County while 324 customers had no power in Saint Joseph County. Over 18,000 customers were out system wide.
No one was injured when multiple large trees were knocked onto campers at the Potawatomi Campground on Bell Road in Girard Township.
A wind gust of 36 miles an hour was recorded at the Branch County Memorial Airport.
The strong winds knocked down several trees and limbs between Coldwater and Quincy.
The M.S.U. Extension Service weather reporting station at Bloom Dairy Farm recorded just over a half inch of rain between 10:00 p.m. and midnight on Friday night.
