COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Another show from the Tibbits Summer Theatre is being moved to an outdoors venue in Coldwater.
With a state mandate still in place that does not allow indoor theaters to be open, “A Popped Potpourri” will be presented at The Ponds next weekend.
The Tibbits Summer Theatre’s first show of the season, “Sing Happy” had to be moved to The Ponds in response to the governor’s executive order.
Tibbits Executive Director Christine Delaney exclaimed, “With all the twists and turns and changes we’ve endured the past few months, we are beyond excited that we were able to delight audiences for ‘Sing Happy’ last weekend and can’t wait to do it again for our younger theatre-goers for ‘A Popped Potpourri’ this weekend”.
“A Popped Potpourri” will include musical favorites from popular kids’ movies, readers theatre versions of Cinderella and a collection of Aesop’s Fables performed by a small company of Tibbits performers. The show will even include several classic cartoon shorts.
The Ponds offers a secluded setting with both space for social distancing and privacy to enjoy an intimate performance. All tickets for the event will be transferred to the new location. Masks will still be highly encouraged.
The schedule will change slightly with Thursday July 16 remaining at 6pm, the Friday July 17 performance moving to a 2pm matinee, and the Saturday July 18 performances moved to one 10am show.
Tickets are still available at Tibbits.org or by calling 517-278-6029.
