BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The next part of the process the City of Bronson is going through to fix storm and sanitary sewer issues on South Ruggles Street and a portion of Compton Street is scheduled to take place during Monday night’s Bronson City Council meeting.
The Council will be asked to approve a proposal from Revitalize LLC of Mason to serve as the Certified Grant Administrator.
City Manager Brandon Mersman said they submitted the only bid for this work
Revitalize submitted a not to exceed amount of $23,840 for an estimated total of 298 hours of work on the project. Revitalize would handle the administration and compliance paperwork for the grant.
Mersman says the City is required by the Michigan Economic Development Commission to use a Certified Grant Administrator. The cost is totally covered by the grant.
The Council is also scheduled to select an engineering firm for the project.
Mersman says the City received three proposals that were scored based on firm experience, staff experience and understanding of the project as well as completeness of the response.
After a review by the staff, Prein & Newhof of Kalamazoo is being recommended for the project.
The cost is projected to be over $1.8 million with the grant covering over $1.3 million. The local match would be just under $441,000.
