QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy Community Schools Superintendent Marc Kramer presented a tentative plan that has been developed by a school reopening committee during Monday night’s Quincy School Board meeting.
The committee was made up of representatives from the school board, parents, teachers and various other operations in the district.
The plan was developed with the hope there would be at least partial face-to-face learning when the school year starts on August 24.
Kramer said P.P.E. has been ordered and received for staff and students. They are also working on getting disinfectants and hand sanitizers.
The district buses are also in the process of being throughly cleaned out and they will be disinfected after each use.
There are fears the recent spike in COVID-19 cases around Michigan would force a dialing back to Stage Three of the state’s reopening plan. If that happens, all school instruction would be conducted remotely.
A short survey has been posted on the district’s Facebook page which will give district residents a chance to provide input for the final plan.
Kramer added band camp will start at the end of July and he felt it can be conducted the way athletic conditioning has been held in recent weeks with the proper precautions and protocols in place.
