COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital has announced that registered nurse Laura Kopacz recently completed a 15 hour continuing education certificate program as an Intimate Partner Violence Nurse Examiner. This program is offered by the International Association of Forensic Nurses.
ProMedica is one of over 900 hospitals in the United States that provides these specialty services to victims of violence.
Trained Forensic Nurses in this program are available 24 hours a day-7 days a week.
Victims are seen in a private exam room for their safety and comfort.
Branch County Sexual Assault Services has been providing medical/forensic care to women, children and men, reporting sexual violence, child abuse or elder abuse at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital for 21 years.
