COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Small businesses and nonprofits that have experienced a loss of income as a result of the COVID-19 crisis can still apply for the Michigan Business Restart Grant Program.
The application deadline is August fifth.
The region that Branch County is part of was approved recently for over $7.5 million of grant funding through this new program.
Audrey Tappenden from the Branch County Economic Growth Alliance told the Downtown Development Authority this week that most businesses will likely be eligible especially in downtown Coldwater.
To qualify, a business/organization must meet certain criteria such as having 50 employees or less and they must demonstrate they have been impacted by COVID-19.
The maximum amount of the grants is $20,000.
At least 30 percent of the funds awarded under the program must be provided to women-owned, minority-owned, or veteran-owned eligible businesses.
