STURGIS, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Doyle Community Center in Sturgis is warning citizens of possible exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
In a Facebook post shared Friday, officials said that one of the attendees of their Summer Adventure Club program was self-quarantining after being in contact with someone who had tested positive.
Officials say that the attendee in question was not displaying signs or symptoms of infection, but will be staying out of public for the next 14 days.

“The City of Sturgis Recreation Department was notified that one of the afternoon participants in our Summer Adventure Club has recently been in contact with someone who just tested positive for Covid-19.
At this time neither the participant nor the contact is displaying any signs or symptoms but will both self-quarantine for the next 14 days. For the safety of everyone involved, the participant will no longer be attending Summer Adventure Club.
In coordination with the local health department, we will continue to follow our guidelines from the CDC and LARA and closely monitor the health of all participants and staff and remind you to do the same.
If your child exhibits any signs or symptoms of becoming ill, we ask that you keep them at home and notify us immediately.
We will continuously monitor the situation and make decisions related to the program that are in the best interest of the safety of all participants.
