LEE TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Three Coldwater residents were among five persons who were injured Friday afternoon in a Calhoun County traffic crash.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department says the two vehicle crash happened at about 1:00 p.m. at the intersection of 21 Mile Road and R Drive North in Lee Township.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports the three Coldwater residents were in a southbound vehicle that according to Sheriff’s deputies did not stop at a stop sign and collided with the second vehicle which was heading west.
Both vehicles then went into a 15 foot ditch and rolled over.
According to the Enquirer, two of the Coldwater residents were taken to Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall for minor injuries while a third was sent to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo with serious injuries.
The other vehicle contained five residents from Ohio and Indiana. Two went to Oaklawn for minor injuries.
The crash is still being investigated by the Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction Team.
