COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Economic Growth Alliance announced on Wednesday they are now accepting online applications to its COVID-19 Rebate Program.
The rebate program allows eligible businesses and organizations located in Coldwater, Bronson and Quincy to apply for a rebate of up to 75 percent for costs associated with improving health and safety for their staff and patrons, expanding web services, and/or accepting electronic payments.
The program is designed for businesses with 50 or less employees.
A total of $50,000 has been earmarked for the program. Rebate percentage and award maximums are based on where good and services were purchased from and where applicant businesses are located.
Purchases made from Michigan-based business will be eligible for a 75 percent rebate.
Purchases made from Amazon or out-of-state businesses will be eligible for a 50 percent rebate.
Applicants located in Bronson or Quincy are eligible for up to $500 in rebates while Coldwater applicants may receive up to $1,000.
Maximums are based on the share of funds each community contributes to the Economic Growth Alliance budget.
The rebate program was approved in response to new health and safety expectations brought on by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Applicants have to show that their eligible costs were incurred on or after March 1 of this year.
They also have to explain how those costs relate to the program goals as outlined in the application; and use local suppliers where appropriate.
Applications will be accepted and reviewed until the funds are gone or program changes are made.
