MARSHALL, MI (WTVB/WNWN) – There are a lot of orange barrels around Marshall these days as an MDOT project along Business Loop 94 through the downtown area is taking place during the month of August.
Marshall City Manager Tom Tarkiewicz told the Michigan South Central Power Agency Board of Directors on Thursday the nighttime work is expected to take about three to four weeks.
He pointed out the work was supposed to have happened last year but a strike delayed the project.
MDOT has notified the City that they will be closing downtown Michigan Avenue overnight on both Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8:00 p.m. each night.
The paving work is taking place between Mulberry and Liberty.
Water main work is also taking place on five blocks around Marshall’s downtown area.
