HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – Hillsdale County Sheriff Timothy Parker is retiring from law enforcement effective on Friday.
Undersheriff Carl Albright will run the office until a three person committee can name someone to serve out the balance of Parker’s term which ends on December 31, 2020.
Albright was second in the Republican Primary for Sheriff this past Tuesday as he lost to Scott Hodshire 3,590 to 3,312.
Parker leaves law enforcement after 38 years of service.
His career started with the Jonesville Police Department in 1982 before he was hired by the Sheriff’s Office three years later.
Parker served in various capacities at the Sheriff’s Office for 31 years before he was elected as Sheriff in 2016.
